Vita - Elena Olenchyk

Valeriy Kiseljow, born in Omsk, Russia, attended the Schebalin High School for Music in Omsk and studied domra and conducting at the Gnessin Music Academy in Moscow.

Between 2000 and 2006 Valeriy studied mandolin under Marga Wilden-Hüsgen at the Wuppertal Conservatoire which he passed with distinction. During his studies he held a scholarship of Villa Musica and Yehudi Menuhin Live Music Now.

At the International Competition "Nord Pokale" in 1997 he reached rank three. He was the winner of the Russian National Contest in Magnitogorsk in 2002. In the very same year he was the winner of the International Mandolin Competition for Solo Mandolin in Schweinfurt as well.

Valeriy Kiseljow gives solo concerts and takes part in guitar duos, as well as in the Opus I duo - together with Elena Olenchyk.

He toured through Spain, Austria, Luxembourg, Greece, Switzerland, Italy, Russia, Australia and Japan.

He is member of the "forum musical" (Luxembourg) and of "Klangforum Wien".

Since 2002 he has been teaching as a lecturer in the "Landesjugendzupforchester"

Nort Rhine Westphalia.
